Dublin, CA—May 25, 2006—Ellie Mae, an award-winning provider of innovative software and services for the mortgage industry, has been named one of the top 10 "Best Places to Work in the San Francisco Bay Area" by the San Francisco Business Times, the East Bay Business Times, and the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal.

This year, 110 companies were honored and informed of their ranking in an awards ceremony on April 5, 2006. Approximately 400 companies were nominated for the award. Ellie Mae ranked number six, and this is the second time Ellie Mae has been awarded this honor since the awards were first held just two years ago.

The rankings are a joint project of San Francisco Business Times, Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, East Bay Business Times, and Deloitte and Touche. The rankings were divided into five categories based on size for equitable comparison. The categories are: 25 to 50 employees; 51 to 100 employees; 101 to 500 employees; 501 to 3,000; and companies with over 3,000 employees. Surveys were completed by 400 companies. Ellie Mae earned sixth place in the 101-500 employee category.

First held in 2004, "Best Places to Work in the Bay Area" is the result of anonymous surveys of workers at companies that employ a total of 103,382 people throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Employees were asked 38 key questions about their workplace via electronic surveys administered by the companies. Survey questions asked employees about management practices and policies, benefit offerings, and how happy they were with the work climate and culture. The results were published in "Best Places to Work in the Bay Area 2006," a special publication available in April 2006.

"Being selected as one of the best places to work in the San Francisco Bay Area is an honor that validates all the contributions our wonderful employees bring to Ellie Mae," said Sig Anderman, CEO of Ellie Mae. "This company is at the forefront of change in mortgage technology, and our employees have put us there. When you love what you do, it shows-and it creates a company culture that's hard to beat."
